A Little Taste of Italy

Anthony & I just got home from our 10 day trip to Italy!! We had an amazing time but definitely could have looked into things more!  We got to see a lot while there; Rome, Florence, Alfedena, Sorrento, Pompei and Positano!!! We went to a AS Roma soccer game while in Rome and also got to see the Pope and hear him speak during Immaculate Conception at the Spanish Steps.

Some of the downfalls of the trip was walking the wrong direction for almost 6 miles on our walk home after the soccer game ... the Sistine Chapel was closed on the day we went to Rome ... it rained a few days ... and most of Positano was shut down since it was winter.

But there were soo many amazing things to the trip as well! The most important one was that we got to meet Anthony's family in Alfedena!!  They were absolutely wonderful!!  They had home cooked meals for us at their family restaurant & pub and Aunt Mary (who's turning 90) was the cutest woman!!!  We had amazing food, gelato, tiramisu, cappacino and of course wine!!  The scenery at Positano was breathtaking!!

We had a great time but missed Olivia every second!! Her grandparents loved that we were on vacation though because they both got to spend 5 days with her!! I'm sure she was spoiled but we are so happy to be back home with her!!

  1. Great post and love the photos. I've been to Italy twice and have yet to make it to Alfedena (various reasons-I would have had to get there on my own with barely any time and didn't know where I was going! I really want to go back there, though, so I can meet Aunt Mary and all the other relatives-I know it would be so much fun!). I love Rome and Florence, though. Glad you got to see those places. Sorry about the Sistine Chapel. It is beautiful, but you can't take any pictures in there. You'll just have to go back to see that. Very cool that you got to see the Pope on the feast day of the Immaculate Conception. Sounds like you got to do a lot of fun things. Positano looks beautiful. I'll have to put that also on my list of places to see when I go back there! Thanks again for posting the pictures. Would love to see more!
